Our Mission.
Our Mission.
Sacred Systems aims to contribute to our evolving understanding of what it takes for communities to thrive, by integrating the ways of the ancient village, with systems thinking, embodied mysticism and lifeforce leadership.
Perspective
In our view, the disconnect from Earth-based, indigenous wisdom began long before climate change, industrial revolution, colonialism, and which hunts; in the very early days of humankind, when male-dominated religions replaced fertility goddess worship as the prevalent cultural vehicle and started pitting humanity against its natural environment. Separation was born: me vs you, us vs them, human vs nature.
Humanity lived in harmony, belonging and reciprocity with all of creation. In the village and the indigenous ways of life, every being knew their place and purpose in the greater Web of Life. The Earth, and the feminine principle was worshiped and revered as the creatrix of all life
For the last millennia this balance got distorted, and humanity lost its way. Ancient Earth wisdom was buried, Goddesses burned and the masculine God in the sky dominated life on Earth. Independence, rather than interdependence, became the goal. Intuitive knowing and embodied wisdom was overshadowed by scientific rational thought. Women, the Earth, and earth based traditions reduced into objects to be used and extracted.
We’re now at a tipping point, and are witnessing the destructive results of this imbalance everywhere around us. A growing number of people know deep in their bones that ‘something needs to change’, yet few know how to bridge the gap from post modern society back into a way of life that makes sense.
Intentional communities are more needed now than ever, as living laboratories and nurseries for pioneering new systems, and as transitional spaces. And while many have attempted intentional community, a vast majority of these projects fail.
Sacred Systems blends systems thinking, Earth Based Wisdon, Embodied Mysticism and Lifeforce Leadership; thus combining intellectual and embodied wisdom, so that life can guide us home - to our true nature, and to the community of the emerging future.
